When to use it
The particle follows the usual rule: consonant-final nouns take 을, vowel-final ones 를. 마다하다 is written as one word.
The noun names trouble willingly taken on: 수고, 궂은일, 희생, 먼 길, 위험. Something most people would decline.
The judgement is admiring: 수고를 마다하지 않고 끝까지 도왔다. This is praise, and it is normally said about others.
Set against -을/를 불사하고, which accepts a drastic measure grimly, this one accepts effort generously. Same shape, opposite warmth.

-을/를 무릅쓰고
Both admire. 무릅쓰고 faces a danger; 마다하지 않고 accepts trouble that could easily have been declined.
위험을 무릅쓰고 뛰어들었다. (braved it) / 수고를 마다하지 않았다. (didn’t refuse the trouble)
-아/어 내다
내다 credits getting through something hard; 마다하지 않고 credits agreeing to take it on in the first place.
끝까지 견뎌 냈다. (saw it through) / 수고를 마다하지 않았다. (took it on gladly)

좋은 자리를 마다하지 않고 받았다.

The noun must name something one would ordinarily decline. Accepting a good post is no credit.
저는 수고를 마다하지 않았습니다.

The phrase is praise. Applied to yourself it sounds self-congratulatory.
